Here's a short video of what I have managed to create so far with my model in Cry Engine using the FRAPS screen recording program. I have been able to Trigger the movement of the shapes by pressing "x" and trigger them to move back into the center by pressing "c" since this video, I have added more layers and played around a bit with the settings.

This flowgraph shows an individual shape of the models movements and triggers by pressing "x" and "c"

  1. Hi Glenn, How did you resolve your grouping so they all radiated out? how many of your triangles are in one group? I am trying to do similar animation and when using your flow graph something completely different is happening so I think it must be my grouping.
    Thanks

  2. Hey, at first each segment of the triangle was as its own individual group. When i tried to animate the three together in Cry as a group i found i could not make a flow graph. I then went back into sketchup to re group each individual segment of the triangle. Once imported into cry the group of three (grouped in sketchup and not in cry) was able to be animated using the flowgraphs.

From here i copied and pasted the triangles with the flow graph attached. I adjusted the coordinates of the motion and direction of each triangles movement to radiate in all directions.

To give a brief explanation of my flow graph, the smaller one is for the triangle to rotate, where the larger one (containing 4 boxes) is the movement one. I have two sets of these per triangle to trigger the movement to travel out from the centre using "x" or towards the centre using "c".

I hope this helps. If you have any more problems just give us a yell.
